Started off the day doing alright but not great and was down a buyin and a half at one point. I got on a bit later than planned and really wasn't playing great poker, and was running awful as well. I took a quick break and cut down my tables to 6 when I came back. I wasn't really thinking as quick as I usually do and had a lot of goofy plays thrown at me today which threw me off. I also noticed that a lot of regs were really playing back at me hard today. Took down a few spots with air, but really didn't hit much of anything all day, and likely needed to barrel harder in other spots. I ended up fighting back and finishing up over a buyin but overall an off day for me.
Had a few uneventful days late into last week. I was able to make a few buyins each day, but ran at a boring 5BB/100 and didn't have any real spectacular hands. Didn't get a ton of hands in over the weekend due to father day on Sunday and I was a bit out of it on Saturday. I've already cut back on ton of drinking but I think I'm going to limit myself to one day a week now because my ability to play is severely diminished even after a few beers.
Today also started out pretty slow but I managed to pick up steam later in the session and finished with a strong day. Really no amazing hands from the session again though. I did run a few successful bluffs and had only one spewy call that I wasn't proud of. I think overall I played a bit nitty today due to several fish just playing insane and forcing me to shell up a bit. I also noticed several regs really trying to play back at me a lot however I held my own pretty well.
Finished another long morning session. Didn't get on as early as I would have liked, need to get to bed earlier and rest more during the day. Overall I played fairly well although I was stuck in nit mode all day. I really only had one spew that I wasn't proud of, as it was in a spot against a fish who is likely almost never bluffing the hand. Sometimes after making several correct light call downs I get a little overzealous with my calls and make a mistake, something I need to work on.
I really haven't updated in forever due to several reasons, but as of late I've been putting in some major hours and really grinding my way back up again. I ended up cashing out a good portion of my roll over the last few months to pay for bills and to move into a new apartment, so I'm in rebuilding mode right now. It took me a good week or two to get back into the swing of things but I've managed to get the swing of things down again.
I actually had one of my worst days ever about two weeks ago and dropped 15 buyins, which included running 7 buyins under even and a 6.5 buyin pot where I had quad under quad. The rest was just due to poor play as I should have definitely got off at some point during that session. Since then I've rebuilt, and even though I'm running absolutely terrible so far being about 15 buyins under ev half way into the month, I've been able to rebound and am actually pretty close to being at a 5BB/100 winrate.
Today itself started off horrible and was 5buyins under EV right off the bat basically, however I was also even for the day so it wasn't terrible. I took a few breaks this session but managed to rebound for a 9 buyin win. I actually started waking up quite early and playing, around 6am, as I find the games are very soft during these hours. I've also been taking advantage of the new deep stacked tables, as some players and fish have no idea what they are doing and much more money is at stake.
I've posted some hands from this session below, I'll likely make a future post which contains a bunch of the other hands I've played so far this month.
