WSOP 2008

7 April 2008
Finally finished my week in hell, having worked 7 straight days in a row. I did not manage to play any poker at all over this time period, as I was completely exhausted at the end of each day. I wasn't able to acclimate to a new sleep schedule, even though I had to be at work at 7am each morning. Today is the first day I was able to sleep in and it felt amazing. I didn't log any hands yet today as I have been busy setting a few things up. However, in some good news, it looks like I'll be going to the WSOP this year to play in some events. I plan on playing in a few smaller NL Holdem Events for a week in June. I logged on to Harrahs.com earlier today and learned that I am entitled to several free nights of hotel stay due to comp points I've accumulated from my Atlantic City trip. A Round trip ticket will cost $250, making this a very cheap vacation.
I settled for some middle ground on the issue of caffeine, which may come off as a recent obsession of mine. I have remained caffeine free since quiting, but have decided I'll take small doses through Grean Tea to remain in a peak state of mental alertness. I've done a lot of research on the subject and have read that consuming around 20mg an hour will lead to most effective results. 100mg is a cup of coffee, so taking around that amount over five hours of play will keep my focus and motivation at high levels. I shouldn't feel any negative side effects or crashes since the caffeine will be natural from Grean Tea and won't contain any other crap inherent in regular energy drinks.
I plan on logging some decent hands this week as things have returned back to normal and hope to get some interesting hands posted soon enough.
