Wow Im Lazy

9 July 2008
It's actually fairly pathetic that i'm too lazy to even post a full trip report. I'm just so dead to the world lately, summer is exhausting. Actually on the verge of a major rebound. My online endevours are starting to really kick off which will let me sit down and focus much harder on poker. I've actually played some sessions over the last few days somewhat consistantly. I haven't been playing the best but short term variance is also taking my head off as well. I think I've gone in preflop four times vs. loose short stacks over the last few days and ran AK into AA every time. I actually moved down to 50nl for a few sessions to regroup myself. I'm also really struggling getting my pokertracker to work. PT2 is basically completely fucked for me and isn't importing 1/3 of my hands, which makes for quite inaccurate stats. I also just purchased PT3 and have been having all kinds of problems with that as well. It really isn't a finished product yet and many bugs need to still be worked out. Earlier it was crashing my boards and running very laggy. I just upgraded to the newest beta 14 version and am having improved success, yet the program is still very very laggy in comparison to PT2.
I'm still 20 boarding and working on rebuilding my roll and unlocking a few VIP bonuses in the process. I'm not far away from the 2k bonus either and that will be a nice suppliment to my roll. I do eventually plan on tackling 6max and HU play if for nothing else to just improve my skill set. If I can be making enough money from my online web sites then I can play poker 100% for the game and competition and not care about bad beats.
I temporarily dissolved my live bank roll. I just had too many bills to pay and it seemed silly to carry that much cash around. Ideally I'd like to not necessarily have a poker bankroll and more so just total cash in my bank account that can afford a certain amount of variance. I was planning to really tackle 5/10 live with 8-10k live, but really that would be really silly as well if my checking account was low. I'd rather just have a lump of money sitting in the bank which let me freely play whatever limit I wanted to live. I still have big plans to play more live and would really like to get in some local underground games soon, I just need to start shaking off some of this rust and get back into the game.
I'm fairly busy for the rest of the month with a few other activities, but hopefully once August hits i'll be able to start actively studying the game a bit more and pushing myself further. I think my biggest problem with poker is that I never push myself to the max and eventually get bored with the game. It's tough to constantly study and improve ones self when I am constantly playing inferior competition just b/c the money is easy.
I'm also getting excited about the impending release of Starcraft 2 and the announcement of Diablo 3 as well. I already have a domain purchased for a Starcraft 2 site and would like to sponsor and run my own pro team. I don't plan on playing competitively by any means but I'm sure the game will still be enjoyable. Diablo 3 also will probably offer a nice source of revenue from a well done site, along with the fact that I am familiar with the game.
I'll still try to post some hands from Vegas soon.. but right now I have no energy to properly review the hand. I think I need darker blinds for my room as I am rarely sleeping through the night.. poor me. Once I figure my shit out more i'll keep the blog more current.
